Historically SpeakingThe Norwich Historical Society is producing what is technically termed, "An Oral History of Norwich". Adelphia Cable Television makes it all possible with their studios and personnel under the direction of a creative Holly Morin. Peg Wilson has already conducted over twenty interviews with familiar personalities recapturing, on video tape, recollections of the past. The series is designed to preserve not only the memories of the past but a living history spoken on camera by those who lived it. Industrial development with interviews with Stanley Israelite and Milton Jacobson... Allyn L. Brown, Jr. recalls legal traditions.. John Fells speaks of the veterans lives and his own personal experiences... David Tongren of Tongren's Shoe Store recalls the commerce and activity on Main Street years ago. Others include Norma Parrish, Helen and Guerdon Slosberg anad Eleanor B. Reed. If you know someone whose memories should be recorded for future generations or if you have a story to tell, contact Peg Wilson at 887-5267 and arrange for an interview. The video tapes will be available for research at both the Historical Society with a copy going to the Otis Library and also to the participant. It is just one more important project being conducted by the Norwich Historical Society who can be reached at 886-1776.
