Historically Speaking

The Norwich Historical Society is surprised and delighted that so many are becoming memorial sponsors in the book -- "The 9-Mile Square."

The book, which will be published for next Christmas, will have 300 to 400 pages and beautifully bound with a hard cover. It will capture the history of all the towns that are now part of Chief Uncas' generous land gift.

Designed to raise money for promotion of Norwich area history, there are three categories of sponsorship. The 9-mile sponsor, for $200, will be published in a place of honor and receive two advanced copies of book. The honor roll, for $150, will receive one advanced copy of the book and be published on the honor roll. It is the $100 memorial sponsors that are being received in great numbers and designed as Christmas gifts. Many families will be preserving the memory of living parents, relatives and friends.

The book is a once in a lifetime publication and will be not only a photographic and editorial history, but will be a quality coffee table showpiece.

If you are looking for a gift for a special person or for someone who has everything, consider a tax-free memorial gift that will live forever in the book, the history of the "9-Mile Square."

Norwich Bulletin advertising in the coming days will carry full details. Sponsor's contribution can be sent to the Norwich Historical Society, 17 Meadow Lane, Norwich CT, 06360 and are tax-deductible.
