St. Anthony's Chapel

Norwich, CT

Built by a pious immigrant, Joseph C. Delgado, who wanted to become a priest but his family was too poor to send him to the Seminary. He came to the United States, married and raised 2 Daughters and 4 Sons. Joseph believed that everyone should do something to please God; so he erected the Chapel. The Chapel was opened to everyone who wanted to visit or worship; from all ethnic backgrounds.

St. Anthony's Chapel is a source of pride for the Delgado Family and the Cape Verdean Community. It is a legacy which is visible to all.

The Inscription on the Chapel, in Portuguese, reads:
