DESCRIPTION:Hello all\,due to the inclement weather report (thunderstorms right at 1:00pm) we are cancelling this event. The next time this tour will be offered is October 20 at 1:00pm. We apologize for the inconvenience! \nAcquired by the City of Norwich in 2010\, the area has historical significance to the community and has remained a sacred part of Mohegan Tribe history since 1643. The 1.2-acre landmark along the Yantic River is the site of the culmination of the Battle of Great Plains between the Mohegan and Narragansett Tribes. This tour will travel from the planned Uncas Leap Heritage Area to the Royal Mohegan Burial Ground and will explore the deep significance of the Mohegan Tribe’s heritage and its connection with the City of Norwich. \nTotal Distance (miles): 01.2\nMeeting Place: Uncas Leap Heritage Area – 210 Yantic St.\, Norwich\, CT Parking is available onsite\nRain Plan & Registration Details: Rain or shine.\nPre-registration is NOT REQUIRED\nSponsored by: Norwich Historical Society\, City of Norwich\, Mohegan Tribe
