SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Yantic Cemetery Civil War Tour
DESCRIPTION:WEATHER UPDATE: Due to inclement weather\, the Yantic Cemetery Civil War Tour scheduled for Saturday September 30th has been cancelled. The next tour will be held on October 21 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am. We apologize for the inconvenience. \n  \nLocal Civil War author and historian Vic Butsch gives visitors a fascinating walk through Yantic Cemetery\, the resting place for 383 Civil War Veterans. Each soldier who fought in that war had their own reasons for joining the effort\, and each had their own stories to tell. Vic will give voice to the stories of several of those unknown heroes\, as well as giving a glimpse of what life was like in the 1860’s. Also\, be prepared\, as not all the soldiers you will meet fought for the North. You will also visit the “Andersonville Circle” and learn of an outstanding effort\, following the war\, made by the City of Norwich\, not done by any other city in the nation. The walk is one hour long and no pets are allowed in the cemetery. Sponsored by Vic Butsch and Tommy Coletti. Please note that there is limited parking in the Yantic Cemetery. If you plan to park in the Cemetery\, please be careful of small headstones. Parking is also available on side streets. \nYantic Cemetery\, 68 Lafayette Street\, Norwich\, CT \nLength: 1 Mile\, Restrooms: No\, Wheelchair access: the path is flat\, but is unpaved\, Leashed dogs: No\, Especially for children: No \nSponsoring organization: Vic Butsch & Tommy Coletti
