The Antient Ghosts of Norwich Tour
The Norwich Historical Society’s mission is to preserve, protect and promote the rich history of Norwich, CT. Each year, the Norwich Historical Society hosts our most popular event: The Antient Ghosts of Norwich which is an evening guided tour through the Colonial Burying Ground in Norwichtown. The Antient Ghosts of Norwich tour is a part of the Last Green Valley’s annual Walktober celebration.
As dusk approaches, guides escort visitors on a winding path, lit by flickering luminarias through the Burying Ground where visitors hear local ghostly legends and folklore as well as some history of colonial Norwichtown. As visitors stroll through the Burying Ground, they’ll meet some friendly spirits who have a story to tell and they will come across some spooky scenes with skeletons and witches dotting the landscape.
Ticket Information
There will be five tours leaving the Norwichtown Green on Friday October 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm, 6:20pm, 6:40pm, 7:00pm, and 7:20pm – each tour will be limited to 30 people each. Please register and purchase your ticket(s) in advance at norwichhistoricalsociety.org. Tickets go on sale October 1, 2024 at 8:00am. Ticket prices are Non-member: $25.00, Member: $20.00, and Children ages 12 and under: $10.00, plus processing fees. Members: Please log into your Memberplanet account to access member pricing. No walk-ins will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Norwich Historical Society.
Please note, we cannot accept exchanges or substitutions after tickets are purchased as it would disrupt the capacity of other tours. Please choose your ticket time carefully. The tour has uneven ground, is hilly in some areas, and will be in the dark with limited lighting. This tour will last roughly an hour in duration and will run rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather; some years have been very chilly. The tours leave promptly and on time; please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour. Parking is located around the Norwichtown Green.
