The Norwichtown Colonial Burying Ground was established in 1699 and is a significant historic resource in Norwich. Join local historian, Dave Oat, on a walk through the old colonial burial grounds in Norwichtown. Here you will see a variety of hand cut colonial tombstones and discover what they can tell us about early life in Colonial Norwich. Dave will explain the history behind the various styles of headstone carvings while telling stories of important colonial era figures buried here.

This event is free to attend, but preregistration is required. If you are unvaccinated, please wear a mask. Vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask. After the tour, please check out the Norwich Heritage & Regional Visitors’ Center and the Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop along the Norwichtown Green.
